Butterfly Basics
This frame was an experiment that turned out pretty cute. I didn’t spend a whole lot of time on it, because I wasn’t sure if it would work. I debated whether or not I would share it, mainly because it is so simple with just two colors, but everyone starts somewhere, I have one more of these frames, so I think I’ll go all out on the next one now that I know stamping directly on the wood works and looks good. The frame is just a cheapy one from my local craft store, I think I might have paid a whole dollar for it. It has a stick that pokes into the back for it to stand up. It had already been primed white, so I just used a sponge to add a little color to the background. I then stamped the leaves and butterflies directly on the frame. I then used the Bitty Butterfly punch to add some dimension, and for that special touch, our matching ribbon for a beautiful bow. Now I must admit, I could not tie a bow to save my life, so I use one of those wooden blocks with the pegs to cheat. For the picture, I just took a picture that day of my niece, she was being super cute and didn’t want to look at the camera. It was early in the morning and she was sitting up in my bed watching cartoons waiting for me to make breakfast before taking her to dance camp. I gave her the frame, I think she was trying to take it anyway (she’s only 4 and likes to sneak things from my house).
