Fairy Celebration
I have to admit, when I saw this set in the new catalog, I got super excited. I immediately started designing cards and gifts in my mind. When the set finally arrived, I was able to start actually designing with paper, and am loving this set even more. And although I’ve designed three cards to show you this week, the brain is still busy designing more that I can’t wait to share.
I left this first one very simple, I didn’t even add a greeting to it. But you could add anything you would like. I also just used our thick white cardstock, I think it makes for a very elegant looking card. I stamped the image on the card and then stamped it again on water color paper and cut out just the fairy. Therefore, the branch is flush on the card, but the fairy has a little bit of dimension. I stuck her down with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. I used markers for the branch, leaves and fruit (Soft Suede, Mint Macaron and Peekaboo Peach). I then used ink pads and an aqua painter for the fairy to make the colors a little more subtle. I made my fairy blonde, I also do a lot of paper creations with other dolls, and I always make them blonde. But they look great no matter what color you make the hair or skin, I just think I like mine looking like me, or my daughter, or my niece, who knows. It’s probably because the yellows are so light, it’s easier to cover up mistakes. Friday’s card has a lot of water coloring and layering, I think I like it the best and can’t wait to share it with everyone.
