Cauldron Bubble

Cauldron Bubble

Wow! Can you believe summer is over? The kids are back in school and it’s time to start thinking about the holidays. I’m not ready to start planning for Christmas, so I thought I’d just ease into it with a fun Halloween project. It’s always such fun to decorate for Halloween, and this project is so cute, I can’t wait for October 1st to put it on my mantle. The Cauldron Bubble stamp set is absolutely adorable and very versatile, and best of all you can bundle it with matching dies and save 10% (item #149931). The little witch and cauldron are colored with our Stampin’ Blends, now I have to be honest, at first I was having a difficult time with them, but the more I color and practice the easier they have become to use. They are alcohol based markers and each color comes in two shades. I find if I color with the lighter shade first and them come back in with the darker shade to add shadow I get the best the results. I’ll also go over a small area with the color lifter to add even more depth, this doesn’t completely lift the color, just makes it even lighter (this was done in the middle of the cauldron). And who would’ve thought you can emboss on a chalk board! I found this cute little chalk board easel at my local craft store and thought I’d try embossing with white powder so it would look like chalk, I was very pleased with the results. I did use the embossing buddy to make sure no flakes would be left behind and it gave me a nice clean result.

It’s always sad to see summer go. This year I watched my 6 year old niece, we had such a great time. We were very busy riding bikes, swimming lessons, going to the lake, reading and visiting the library for the summer reading program, we went to the zoo, the movies, the park, I’m exhausted just thinking back on it. We really had a great time together and I do miss seeing her everyday. But along with the break, comes time for me to get back to my favorite hobby, paper crafting. This will also allow me time to share my projects with my readers, friends and customers.

Please contact me if you have any questions or if you are interested in classes, I teach a monthly class and this project will be featured in September.
