Painter's Palette

Painter's Palette

After designing the three cards for this week, I treated myself to X-MEN: Apocalypse!  I love the X-MEN series and this one did not disappoint; if you haven’t seen it you must!!  I then went again with my husband (oh, the sacrifices I make).  I’m not going to give any spoilers, but would love to discuss once everyone has had a chance to see it.  Now, on to this week’s projects – I used the Painter’s Palette stamp set that is new in this year’s catalog (can’t wait until June 1st).  Remember if you place an order of $50 or more, I will send you a catalog FREE!!  Today’s card used my favorite of the new In Colors, Peekaboo Peach.  I also use the Playful Palette Designer Serious Paper in all three cards, I love this pack, it is very versatile and can be used in all sorts of projects.  This card is simple and shows color on color, I honestly think my favorite thing about Stampin’ Up! Is how everything matches perfectly, it really takes the guess work out of trying to find the perfect combinations.

I used the following items available from my store at Stampin’ Up!:

  • Painter's Palette Stamp Set
  • Clear Blocks – D
  • Peekaboo Peach Classic Stampin’ Pad
  • Very Vanilla 8 ½ x 11 Cardstock
  • Peekaboo Peach 8 ½ x 11 Cardstock
  • Playful Palette Designer Series Paper
  • Thick Baker’s Twine – Very Vanilla
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Tear & Tape

Below are the instructions for this card:

  1. Cut a piece of Peekaboo Peach Cardstock to 8 ½ x 5 ½ , score at 4 ¼ and fold.
  2. Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper 5 ½ x 2.
  3. Cut a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock 3 ½ x 1 ½ .
  4. Stamp sentiment in center of Very Vanilla Cardstock with Peekaboo Peach, then add background stamp, stamping off on scratch paper first (ink, stamp off, stamp on cardstock, repeat).  The stamping off technique allows for the color to be a little softer.
  5. Punch a hole using a 1/8” punch in either side of the vanilla cardstock, and thread the baker’s twine through tying knows in the front.
  6. Adhere cardstock to Designer Series Paper with Stampin’ Dimensionals
  7. Using Tear & Tape, wrap twine around DSP and adhere to back, add more tear & tape and adhere to front of card.

On Wednesday, you’ll see another pattern of the Designer Series Paper and more of the stamps from the Painter’s Palette set.  Be sure to sign up to receive emails every time I post a new project.  I can’t wait to share them all.
