Sunburst Sayings Blinged Out
It’s always a challenge coming up with cards with a more masculine flair. I love working with flowers and butterflies, but let’s face it not every boy wants pink card with butterflies. This card is simple and sleek enough for even the pickiest of boys! (or man)
I used the following items available from my store at Stampin’ Up!:
- Sunburst Sayings Stamp Set
- Clear Blocks – D
- Pacific Point Classic Stampin’ Pad
- Stampin’ Dimensionals
- Snail Adhesive
- Tear & Tape Adhesive
- Whisper White 8 ½ x 11 Thick Cardstock
- Calypso Coral 8 ½ x 11 Cardstock
- Pacific Point 8 ½ x 11 Cardstock
- Brights Designer Serious Paper Stack
- Metallic Foil Doilies
- Metallic Thread – Silver
- 1 3/8” Circle Punch
- Sunburst Thinlits
Below are the instructions for this card:
- Cut a piece of Pacific Point Cardstock in half and fold to create card.
- Cut a piece of striped Pacific Point from the DSP 5 ¼ x 4 and adhere to front of card.
- Cut a piece of Calypso Coral 5 ¼ x 4 and run through your Big Shot using the Sunburst Thinlit and adhere to front of card.
- Using Pacific Point Classic Stampin’ Pad, stamp desired image on Whisper White Thick Cardstock (you could also use the regular Whisper White Cardstock for this, I just like the thicker better).
- Using the 1 3/8 circle punch, punch out your greeting.
- Adhere Whisper White Circle to the Metallic Foil Doily using Tear & Tape Adhesive.
- Apply adhesive to the back of doily and loop Metallic Thread around sticking it to the adhesive.
- Apply Dimensionals on top of the Metallic Thread and stick to the front of your card.
Using the Big Shot gives you so many more possibilities with one stamp set and few key colors. At $110.00 it may seem like a daunting expense, however, with as much use as you will get with it, it is definitely an excellent investment. Remember, you also get the cutting pads and after June 1st, you will get the new platform. This platform is raised a little in the middle to allow for more precise cutting (I can’t wait to get mine).
