Love & Affection Jazzed Up

Love & Affection Jazzed Up

I know what you’re thinking, and you’re right!!  I really had a hard time topping Monday’s card, I really think it’s fabulous, but wanted to give you a little more.  I love the look of watercoloring, but I am no artist.  Which is probably why I love Stampin’ Up! so much.  The colors of the ink pads match the cardstock perfectly and make for a fabulous finished project.  It’s still a simple design that will not take very long to finish.

I used the following items which can be purchased directly from my store at Stampin’ Up!

  • Love & Affection Stamp Set
  • Clear Blocks – D
  • Whisper White 8 ½ x 11 Thick Card Stock
  • Affectionately Yours Cardstock Pack
  • Rhinestone Basic Jewels
  • Watermelon Wonder Classic Stampin’ Pad
  • Mint Macaron Classic Stampin’ Pad
  • Night of Navy Classic Stampin’ Pad
  • Aqua Painter
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Mini Glue Dots
  • Fine Tip Glue Pen
  • Snail Adhesive

Putting this card together was very simple:

  1. Using a single sheet of Mint Macaron Card Stock, cut in half then score and fold in half to create your card.  Cut a piece of Night of Navy 4 x 5 1/4 and layer on top of the Mint Macaron.
  2. Cut a piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock 3 ¾ x 5.
  3. Using the Watermelon Wonder and Mint Macaron stamp pads squeeze prior to opening to get ink on the inside of the cover.
  4. With the Aqua painter pick up a little color and paint on the white cardstock.  The color will be darker for the first stroke, as you go back and forth moving down it will become lighter.  Alternate between the two colors.  To clean the aqua painter between colors, just scribble on a scratch sheet of paper until it runs clear.  Do not squeeze the aqua painter, the water moves to the brush on its own.
  5. While the watercolor image dries, stamp using the Watermelon Wonder Classic Ink Pad on the Watermelon Wonder Cardstock 2 large and 3 small flowers.
  6. Stamp the tiny flower on Night of Navy with the Night of Navy Classic Ink Pad.
  7. Fussy cut all stamped images.
  8. Using your bone folder curl the edges of the flower.  I placed the cardstock between the bone folder and thumb and slowly pulled the cardstock through while curling it in an upward motion.
  9. Build your flower:  use mini glue dots between the two layers of the large flower and the first two layers of the small flower.  Use a dimensional for the third flower and fine tip glue pen for the small flower on top.
  10. Place a Rhinestone in the middle of the tiny flower.
  11. Stamp sentiment using Night of Navy on top of the watercolored image.
  12. Stamp small flowers with Watermelon Wonder and leaves with Mint Macaron.
  13. Adhere the three layers of the card.
  14. Using mini glue dots, place flower where desired

A couple more steps from Monday’s card, but still simple and not very time consuming at all.  I really like this card, I think I’ll make a few more!!
